Vinke Joins Beechdean AMR for Portimao Finale

German racer Immanuel Vinke will drive for the reigning European Le Mans Series GTE Champions Beechdean Aston Martin Racing at the final round of the 2017 Championship held at the Algarve International Circuit (20th-22nd October).

Vinke will take the place vacated by fellow young driver Ross Gunn, and pair up with Andrew Howard and Darren Turner. The 22 year old has 2 years of GT experience under his belt in the VLN and Blancpain GT Endurance Series. After a successful test held at Silverstone at the close of September, Vinke has been selected for further assessment at the 4 hours of Portimao.

“We are looking forward to welcoming Immanuel to the team and seeing how he gets on with the buzzing LMP2’s and LMP3’s.” Said Team boss Andrew Howard.

Vinke was excited with the opportunity explaining, “Me joining Beechdean AMR for the last race of the ELMS is a big step for me. After successful testing I am more than excited to race for Beechdean and Aston Martin Racing both of which have shaped the path for very talented pro drivers in the past. The Portimao race will be my test in a competitive GTE environment and provide an outlook at the 2018 season plans.”
