Beechdean Motorsport Claim Victory at Spa in Silver AM Class

Beechdean Motorsport’s 2025 British GT season continues to build momentum, with both team and car becoming ever more competitive with each round. That steady progress culminated in a standout performance this past weekend at one of the world’s most iconic venues - Spa-Francorchamps - where everything came together perfectly, delivering a class win and a top five overall result.

From the outset, the team looked sharp in Belgium. Friday’s free practice sessions provided the perfect opportunity for Andrew to reacquaint himself with the demanding 7km circuit, while giving teammate Tom Wood his first experience of Spa at the wheel of a GT3 machine.

Saturday dawned under glorious sunshine, with soaring track temperatures challenging both drivers and engineers. Heading into qualifying, the team knew tyre management would be key to unlocking pace over a couple of flying laps. Andrew delivered a superb performance against the other AM drivers, keeping the #97 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 firmly in the mix. Tom then demonstrated the exceptional qualifying form he’s shown all season, nailing a fantastic lap to put the Beechdean Vantage on pole in the Silver-AM class.

Race day arrived with high hopes ahead of the demanding three-hour endurance contest. Andrew started the race with a superb stint, battling strongly in the thick of the pack and handing over to Tom in an excellent position. Tom’s pace was relentless as he fought wheel-to-wheel with factory Pros, the Aston Martin showing its true strength and consistency around Spa’s legendary curves and long straights.

When the chequered flag fell, Tom brought the car home P1 in Silver AM and an impressive P5 overall, a brilliant and fully deserved result for the entire Beechdean Motorsport squad and an important points haul as the season heads into its final stages.

Andrew Howard: "It’s been a fantastic weekend for everyone involved. The team has been working so hard all season, and it felt like this weekend everything just clicked. Spa is such an incredible place to race, and to come away with a class win and a top five overall is something we can all be very proud of."

Tom Wood: "I absolutely loved every lap this weekend, it was my first time here in a GT3 car and what an experience! The car felt fantastic from the start, and qualifying was mega. The team gave us a great platform to race with, and Andrew did a brilliant first stint to set us up for the result. Massive thanks to everyone at Beechdean Motorsport.

Now, the team’s focus turns to this coming weekend’s Spa 24 Hours, where we aim to carry this momentum forward and once again fight for victory at the biggest GT3 race in the world.
