Beechdean Motorsport continued their strong British GT campaign at Rounds 6 & 7 of the championship at Snetterton this past weekend, delivering a double podium performance that maintains their lead in the Silver AM standings with just two rounds remaining.

Saturday's action at the Norfolk circuit took place under cloudless skies and soaring temperatures, with the track basking in over 30°C heat. Free Practice and Qualifying saw the #97 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 dialled in as both Andrew Howard and Tom Wood adapted to the unusually hot conditions.
Andrew delivered a composed Q1 session, placing the car P2 in class for Sunday morning’s opening race, before Tom once again demonstrated his exceptional one-lap pace, securing class pole position for Race 2.

Sunday saw a shift in conditions, with cooler, grey skies greeting the paddock. Race 1 began early in the morning, and Andrew handled the opening stint expertly, maintaining close contact with the Silver AM class leader. A well-timed pit stop and faultless execution from the Beechdean crew saw Tom rejoin the race just ahead of the Honda that had previously led the class. However, on his second lap out, Tom found himself caught on the dirty side of the circuit and briefly went off-track. The incident dropped him 16 seconds behind the class leader, but a determined drive saw him close the gap to just two seconds at the chequered flag, earning a hard-fought P2.
Race 2 saw Tom start from class pole and immediately begin to build a strong gap over the chasing pack. He handed the car to Andrew with a healthy lead, and the final stint became a strategic battle against the recovering Honda. Despite Andrew's best defensive efforts in the closing stages, the team had to settle for another second-place finish—marking a consistent, if frustrating, end to the weekend.

Andrew Howard: "Not the weekend we were hoping for in terms of results, but there’s a lot to take away from it. The car felt strong all weekend, the team were flawless in the pits, and both Tom and I were able to run competitive stints. It’s a shame we didn’t quite convert the pole into a win, but it’s a valuable haul of points and we stay in control of the championship heading into the final two rounds."
Tom Wood: "It was a weekend of what could have been, but we showed the pace and potential of the car throughout. Race 1 was a tough one mentally, after the off I just focused on getting my head down and pushing. Closing a 16-second gap to two seconds shows how strong our package is. We’ll regroup over the break and come back fighting at Brands Hatch."
With five weeks until the penultimate round at Brands Hatch, Beechdean Motorsport continue to lead the Silver AM standings and remain firmly in contention for championship honours as the season enters its decisive phase.
